Dr. Yoshitaro Yoshi Oba is a licensed psychologist in the State of Georgia. After completing his undergraduate education at the Open University of Japan, Dr. Oba continued his education in the United States. He earned two master's degrees (General Psychology and Counseling Psychology) from Avila University and his Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Dakota. Dr. Oba has provided clinical services in various settings, including acute and long-term inpatient hospitals, community mental health clinics, schools, integration care clinics, and home-based treatment.

Dr. Oba is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) through the University of North Dakota. For clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder, he conducts psychological evaluation using the Autism Diagnostic Observation Scale (ADOS), the gold-standard assessment tool for Autism Spectrum Disorder evaluations. Additionally, Dr. Oba provides treatment for depression, anxiety, trauma, or behavioral problems.

Dr. Oba provides English and Japanese services, and he is passionate about helping individuals with cultural and language barriers. He is well-versed in the unique challenges immigrants face and the impact on their psychological well-being, identity, and development. As a gender affirmative psychologist, Dr. Oba provides treatment, consultation, and evaluation for gender minorities (including those who identify as transgender, gender non-conforming, non-binary, genderfluid, genderqueer, etc.).

Dr. Oba is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the Georgia Psychological Association, the National Register of Health Service Psychologists, and the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI).
